A Winning Combination: Working From The Inside Out And The Outside In

Happy Spring! Here is an update about ongoing free well-being events as well as weekly classes and workshop opportunities:

With my clients, I often explain to them that I am supporting them from the “inside out” as I guide them with this subconscious therapy. And, they receive a recording of the hypnotherapy session in order to get that repetition that is needed in order to create lasting change.  Equally important is this other part of their therapy: which is to use their tools in between sessions and this is the “outside in work” and could include journaling exercises, breathing tools & keeping a dream diary as just a few examples.

Friends, I recently expanded my practice to include tools that connect us into Body/Mind Somatic awareness: that there are certain aspects within oneself that you have to heal from the body- up- and there are certain aspects that we have to heal from the mind down. We can expand on this body focus by adding the components of the mind and emotion, including working with the conscious mind in terms of thoughts and cognitive strategies and the unconscious mind in terms of habits and beliefs. I’ve added weekly classes and workshops to support my clients with their “outside in” work:

Join me each Wednesday morning at 8 am for a free 30 min zoom class: “Nervous System Reset” where we utilize Progressive Relaxation and Yoga Nidra meditation exercises and Therapeutic Imagery as a wonderful way to start your day and an excellent complement to hypnotherapy.

We practice through the lens of the nervous system and whole-self resiliency.

We employ  embodiment practices from a place of safety and self-regulation.

We connect into self- compassion and into all of the parts of us: our thoughts, sensations, and feelings, and we employ breath,  movement, yoga poses and meditation.

This process of working from the inside out with a guide, and learning the tools you can use as your outside in work is powerful. And the Yoga Nidra practice is especially empowering with regular practice. We will bring in a trauma informed approach, focusing on nervous system regulation because: most of what keeps us from knowing the stillness, the depths, in our own minds, is the activation of the fight/flight/freeze response or, the primitive brain.

The difference between meditation and hypnosis: it is said that meditation has a kind of organizing of the mind process whereas hypnosis is a learning state in which we can unlearn old conditioned patterns and behaviors and then relearn the new positive behaviors.

In your one to one sessions & within group settings, clients have the opportunity to experience how these tools allow them to bring their mind and body into regulation, into unity. In these trauma- informed sessions we can understand a lot about our own mind, the way our minds work, the way our bodies work, the way our nervous system is, and we can bring that resilience that we build into our life with other people and that’s the co-regulation we are seeking.

As many of my clients know, doing their “homework” between sessions is a key component for achieving the lasting change they are seeking. And there are no “hypno-miracles” because: This is deep body based healing with people and, we are neurosynaptically wiring in a new way of thinking, a new way of feeling and a new way of breathing, a new way of moving, a new way of emoting and new ways of interacting with our families or friends… and ultimately creating a life that you love.
